Services Terms & Conditions

All dogs must be members before we can provide any services. All we need to do is arrange a convenient time for you and your dog to visit the Ranch. The process is quite straightforward and will involve the completion of a form, which we will ask you to sign if we are all happy to proceed, and we are happy that we feel your dog(s) will be suited to the Ranch and play nicely with all of the other dogs. We will ask about your dog’s/dogs’ health, history, behaviour, habits, likes and dislikes. We will also need to record your veterinary practice details and, if applicable, take details of your dog’s/dogs’ vaccinations. Finally, we may discuss household information e.g. provision of a key, if applicable.

Dogs are accepted on the basis of the information provided on the membership form and we cannot accept responsibility for the consequences of a dog exhibiting behaviour not predicable from the information disclosed in the membership form.

Your dog's/dogs' first day at the Ranch will serve as a trial day to ensure that your dog is suited to life on the Ranch.

We do not accept un-neutered male dogs, bitches in season or about to come into season, or pregnant bitches in day care. We accept no liability for any unwanted pregnancies.  In addition, those dogs as listed in the Dangerous Dogs (Amendment) Act 1997 e.g. the Pit Bull Terrier, the Japanese Tosa, the Dogo Argentino, the Fila Brasileiro cannot be accepted. Puppies are taken on with the proviso that they will be spayed/neutered when they become of suitable age (usually around six months old).

Vaccinations & Health
We would ask that you ensure that your dog(s) is/are vaccinated in accordance with veterinary advice. All dogs registered with us must be vaccinated. We also ask that owners ensure that dogs are in good health and are free from fleas and are adequately wormed, and regularly receive preventative flea and tick treatments.  We cannot accept dogs who are unwell into day-care, please call us ASAP to notify us.  Any dog becoming unwell will need to be collected from day-care.  In the case of an emergency, we will take your dog to the nearest vet to us if you are unable to do so yourself.

All members of our team are trained in Dog First Aid. If it becomes necessary, dogs will be taken to the owner’s veterinary practice whenever possible but this cannot be guaranteed; we may need to travel to the nearest practice. The owner will always be notified immediately should we need to take the dog to a vet. We are registered with Clifton Veterinary Practice, 28 St Paul’s Road, Clifton, BS8 1LR, Telephone 0117 973 6747, which means we have 24/7 hours access to a veterinarian.

We reserve the right, in exceptional circumstances, to return dogs/ask you to collect your dog during the contract period. This may be as a result of an emergency e.g. injury or infectious illness, or if a bitch comes into season, or because a dog is unsettling other dogs. Owners who are going away MUST therefore provide an emergency UK contact.

Identification of Dogs
In accordance with the control of dogs order 1922, dogs should wear a collar with the name and address (including postcode) of the owner engraved or written on it, or engraved on a tag (whether the dog is micro-chipped or not). A telephone number is optional but advisable. Failure to do so can result in a fine, which the dog owner is liable for. We are happy to source a tag at cost. Dogs boarding with us will wear a Happy Days Dog Care/Ranch identification bandana or tag.

The Pet Industry Federation (formerly The Pet Care Trust)
Happy Days Dog Care is a member the Pet Industry Federation, which is the largest Pet Care organisation in the UK. The Pet Industry Federation exists to inform the public about responsible pet ownership and to help the pet specialist achieve the highest possible standards of animal welfare and customer service. For further details visit or call 01234 273933.

Happy Days Dog Care holds public and products liability insurance for the loss and/or damage to third party property and/or bodily injury to third party persons arising out of the insured’s activities as a pet carer. Cover as a result of negligence to the limit of £2,000,00 (two million) any one accident and a maximum of £50,000.00 (fifty thousand) covering liability for vets’ fees following injury per insured period. The policy also covers our liability for loss or straying of any animal in our custody and control, upto a limit of £1,000.00 (one thousand) per animal. Please note that we take the security of your home very seriously. All keys will be kept in a secure location and will not be marked with your address but will be coded for identification accordingly.
